گادتب: به گزارش مرکز خبر گادتب، طی روزهای گذشته علی رغم صدور بخشنامه رئیس قوه قضاییه مبنی بر اعزام زندانیان به مرخصی،اکثر فعالین آذربایجانی کماکان در زندان بوده و نمی توانند برای در امان ماندن از بیماری همه گیر کرونا به مرخصی بروند.

پس از اطلاع ورود مسئولین سازمان بهداشت جهانی به ایران برای نظارت بر نحوه مقابله با ویروس و کمک به مبارزه با آن ، فعالین آذربایجانی با راه اندازی کمپینی با ارسال نامه به مسئولین سازمان بهداشت جهانی از آنها خواسته اند مقامات ایرانی را برای حفظ جان زندانیان و صدور مجوز مرخصی تحت فشار قرار دهند.

Re : Urgent Attention to the Negligence of Iranian Authorities for Not Preventing Coronavirus Breakouts in Prisons of South Azerbaijan and Risk Exposures Against Prisoners of Conscience

Attention of the World Health Organization

Dear all,

We wish to bring it to your kind attention the negligence of Iranian authorities by not preventing coronavirus breakouts in prisons of South Azerbaijan (Zanjan, West and East Azerbaijan, Hamadan and Ardabil provinces). The outbreaks are now in a dire state and at no time, prison authorities used any strategy to isolate the prisoners from the coronavirus risk exposures while outbreaks outside the prison were common knowledge.

Our concern in particular is with prisoners of conscience, all of whom have been imprisoned on arbitrary grounds without even being recognised of appropriate status for prisoners of conscience. There are many who think that the outbreaks of coronavirus in South Azerbaijani prisons in Iran have been encouraged deliberately by Iranian authorities. This makes us particularly worried and therefore on behalf of their families, we are appealing to you to campaign for them with an appropriate degree of urgency.

Our information is that South Azerbaijani prisoners of conscience the following prisons need urgent attention:

• Prisoners of conscience in Ardabil, the capital of Ardabil province: In particular the medical conditions of Mr. Abbas Lisani(لسانی عباس), Mr. Rahim Qulami (رحیم غلامی) and Mr. Yusif Kari (یوسف کاری) make them more vulnerable. Also, the situation of Ms. Mojgan Siyami (مژگان صیامی) is concerning, as she was deprived of the right of visiting her children. There is no information from the rest of prisoners of conscience yet.

• Prisoners of conscience in Tabriz, the capital of East Azerbaijan, and in particular Mr. Ali Azizi (علی عزیزی), Mr. Sajjad Shahiri (سجاد شهیری), Mr. Amir Sattari (امیر ستاری) and Mr. Mohhammad Abdolmohammadzadeh (محمد عبدالمحمدزاده) are  vulnerable. There is no information from the rest of prisoners of conscience yet.

• Prisoners of conscience in Evin prison in Tenran, and in particular Tovhid Amir Mo’mini (توحید امیرامینی), Mr. Keyanush Aslani (کیانوش اصلانی)  and Mr. Kazim Sefabekhsh (کاظم صفابخش). These prisoners of conscience are in Section 4 of Evin prison, which is reportedly in quarantine situation; as well as Mr. Ibrahim Nuri (ابراهیم نوری), Mr. Jafar Rustemi Rad (جعفر رستمی راد), who are imprisoned in Section 8 of Evin prison, which is reportedly suffering from an outbreak. We have no information on others including Mr. (Alirza Farshi (علیرضا فرشی), Mr. Akbar Na’imi (اکبر نعیمی), Mr. Ehsan Shokr-Khudayi (احسان_شکرخدایی) and Mrs. Zeynab Hamrang (زینب همرنگ) who are kept in other sections of Evin prison. We also have no news on the impact of the ongoing outbreaks on Dr Latif Hasani (لطیف حسنی) in Rajaishahr prison.

• Prisons in Maragha, East Azerbaijan have similar situations and therefore the vulnerability of the following prisoners of conscience are very concerning to us: Mrs. Hekime Ahmedi (حکیمه احمدی), Mr. Abolfazl Fakori (ابوالفضل فکوری), Mr. Qulamriza Rashidi (،غلامرضا رشیدی), Mr. Moharram Valipur (محرم ولی پور) and Mr. Akbar Azizi (کبر عزیزی).

• We know for sure that two of South Azerbaijani prisoners of conscience have been temporarily released in Ahar prison, East Azerbaijan.

We quite understand that your mandate is not to campaign for the rights of these prisoners of conscience but we urge you to campaign very strongly for the temporary release of these prisoners of conscience and all the other ones until these epidemic outbreaks within the prison are certified by you to be under control and back to normal.
